Break Room Café

Shouting out one of my favorite local spots to grab a quick bite! I’m excited to share this review with you because I frequent this restaurant and am never disappointed! Break Room Café is a small family business situated off of Cahuenga Blvd next to the 101 freeway in Universal/Studio City.  They offer healthy food (breakfast and lunch – their breakfast is also served all day which is great!), fresh juices and amazing smoothies! I would go as far as to say they have one of, if not the best kale smoothie I’ve had in all of LA! Check out my review on this awesome little cafe!

Break Room Café

3244 Cahuenga Blvd West

Los Angeles/Studio City, CA 90068

First Impression:  I remember when they first opened in 2010 and what initially got me to go in was that it looked like a healthy place that had a nice, clean interior. I still feel the same way when I first walk in. You can easily tell it’s a healthy spot and that a lot of people are frequenting here.

Taste: So good!! I always order the Grain and Veggie wrap. Occasionally I switch it up but this wrap never disappoints! It’s a great option for vegetarians! This wrap is filled with steamed cracked whole wheat, hummus, cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrots and corn all wrapped in a spinach tortilla served with an amazing house made cilantro-lime dressing! Bethany tried the Spinach & Strawberry Salad, which is made up of baby spinach, strawberries, dried cranberries, feta cheese & candied walnuts served with balsamic vinaigrette on the side. This is a great salad and also a really clean option. Bethany also tried their Green It juice, which she really enjoyed. This is the juice I order if I am getting juice, it’s their best, in my opinion. It is made up of spinach, celery, ginger, apples, cucumber and lemon. I had my favorite kale smoothie, the Kale Fusion. Which I notice every time I’m in there lots of people are ordering it and it’s no wonder because it is so good! It’s made up of almond milk, kale, spirulina and hemp protein. I definitely recommend try any or all of these at some point!

Décor: Cute and classic. Plants on every table and some decorative art work. Exactly what I would expect it to look like based on the menu and the name.

Price: Very reasonable for the quality of food you’re getting!

Service: Great! Since I frequent here a lot they always remember me and that’s a great feeling. Ara and his wife Anette are the owners and you almost always see them there and they always are very friendly and so is their staff!

Ambiance: Relaxing, and not in a spa like way but it’s usually pretty mellow in there. The tables are spread apart so you don’t feel like you’re sitting on top of other people while enjoying your meal. They have a couple of tables outside, which is a nice option to have. It just feels like a place you could take your time eating at, not feel rushed or that it’s too loud. A great spot for lunch with friends, a date or even picking up food to go!

Overall Experience: Great! I love this café! Consistently great tasting food and friendly service! I would absolutely recommend trying this spot out!
